Epidemiology
| The Franklin County Health Department maintains the surveillance system for Franklin County. Diseases that are required to be reported to the health department are designated by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta GA.
Services include:
- Investigation
- Prevention measures
- Arrangement for treatment
- Follow-up of possible outbreaks
- Education and counseling for prevention and treatment
- Site visits to assist with preventive measures
Local health departments are required to report all diseases and all actions taken to the Kentucky Department of Epidemiology.
